Gina DeCagna is an American artist and cultural producer based in London. She earned her MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London (2020), where she focused on multimedia storytelling techniques in contemporary art, following her BA (Honors) in English, Creative Writing and Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania (2016) in Philadelphia, PA. There, she studied modern and contemporary poetry and poetics, and had founded, edited, and directed a publication and community of over four hundred collaborating contemporary artists and writers known as Symbiosis (2012–2016).

She is founder and artistic director of Palimpsest Projects (2024–present), a curatorial platform dedicated to rewriting human stories, based from London and working across different places. In other capacities of cultural production and public engagement, she serves as Creative Learning Manager at Landmark Arts Centre, Teddington, London (2024–present) and previously served as Venice Biennale Fellow with the British Council (2019). When she lived in Philadelphia, she served as Public Engagement Fellow of UPenn’s Institute of Contemporary Art and Center for Contemporary Writing (2017–2018) and on the Steering Committee of the Philadelphia Avant-garde Studies Consortium (2017–2018).

Her art has shown in solo and group exhibitions across London, Philadelphia, and New York. In addition to her visual art and exhibitions, her critical writing and poetry have appeared in a variety of small-press and independent cultural publications.
