VENICE, 5 May–5 June 2019: Biennale Fellowship, the British Council

I’m pleased to have been nominated and supported by Goldsmiths, University of London in partnership with the British Council to undertake a fellowship dedicated both to site-specific research for my artistic practice and to learning the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of the Venice Biennale (by stewarding the British Pavilion). With so much art history overlapping with contemporary art installations and exhibitions in Venice, I’m thrilled to be stimulated by the international spectrum of culture that descends upon and intermingles in Venice.

The 58th International Art Exhibition, curated by Ralph Rugoff, is centred around the saying, ‘May you live in interesting times.’ The British Pavilion features Northern Irish artist Cathy Wilkes throughout its six gallery rooms for the 2019 exhibition, curated by Dr. Zoé Whitley.
